So - quiet August.....

In my last post, I alluded to August being a quiet month normally. I might have been wrong!

In the last two weeks we've been inundated with calls to deal with hard disk failures, network problems and post-phone-scam check-ups. We've even seen a custom build PC with a faulty CPU right out of the box - something that is incredibly rare and does not manifest in a way that could be expected!

It does appear to be the season for phone-scams so please be on your guard and make sure your PC anti-virus and updates are current. Always remember that no-one is going to phone out of the blue and tell you that your PC or "Internet connection" is infected. If you get one of these calls, just hang up. The scammers are experts in social manipulation so don't give them the chance!

At this time of holiday, it's a good idea to ensure your files are backing up somewhere, especially your precious photographs. If you have an Office 365 Home or Personal subscription remember that you get 1TB of storage with Microsoft's OneDrive cloud solution which is built into Windows 10 and can be downloaded to Windows 7. You might need to make some configuration changes to your PC to ensure your documents and photos are automatically saved to OneDrive but this is easy to set up from inside the application. Of course, we're always here to help!

Let's see what next week brings.....
